Dark Knight Rises Review

Dark Knight Rises Review

After dodging spoilers for just over a week on the Internet, I FINALLY got round to watching the final movie of this epic trilogy.

Going to keep this short and sweet, simply becuase you’ve probably already read a million reviews about this movie, most of which say the movie is nothing short of a masterpiece, and I couldn’t agree with that more. Also of course I wouldn’t want to drop any spoilers

The script, cinematography and performances where pretty much flawless. Sure the film takes itself a bit too seriously but it works and strangely doesn’t come off as cheesy at all. Bane for me was pretty cool, he’s character was a huge change from the comic versions and for the most part it worked, wasn’t a fan of he’s sometimes incoherent dialogue though.

The story wrapped up well and pretty much each character got some closer. My only problem with the ending was it all wrapped up a bit too neatly. All the main characters pretty much got their happily ever after ending, I would have loved maybe a slightly darker ending? But I guess with Nolan saying this will be forever he’s last Batman film, it made sense to neatly tie up any loose ends and not leave room for a sequel to this Batman arc.

There has been a crazy amount of comic movies this year, but the big question people seem to ask is, ” Which is better? Dark Knight Rises or Avengers?!” Both are horribly different movies of course, but Avengers to me is still the best (and most fun) comic book movie EVER. I never see the Dark Knight Trilogy as comic movies simply due to just how adult and complex they are. The trilogy truly is stellar and I can’t wait to sit down and watch all three in a row.

Seriously, if you have not seen this yet. What are you waiting for?! Also pray the cinema you are visiting has cumfy seats. This is quite a long movie and my ass was pretty numb by the time the credits were rolling!

9/10
